Application, Easy Cash Aid Distribution – Flood Victims

SHAH ALAM: Flood victims in Taman Sri Muda here described the process of applying and distributing flood aid, including Bantuan Wang Ihsan (BWI), by federal and state governments as easy and smooth.

Pang Lu Tan, 72, said he only needed to provide his ID card and some photos of the flooding as proof when submitting an application to the Klang district office ago. two weeks prior to receiving a message to receive cash assistance today.

“It’s not difficult to apply. I just had to bring my CI and my wife’s, and keep some pictures of the flooding as proof. The Klang District Office also facilitated the process as we only submitted one form for two requests for assistance, namely BWI and Bantuan Selangor Bangkit (BSB).

“So today I got two grants at a time, RM 1,000 each. It is a relief to be able to buy basic necessities to replace damaged goods, ”he told reporters after receiving cash assistance at Dewan Azalea in Taman Sri Muda here.

Pang said while the cash assistance may be small compared to the losses he suffered, it would help ease his burden.

“It wasn’t just our house that was flooded. It’s everywhere you go. So it certainly helped, ”he said.

For Hamizan Sampol, 46, who came to the room in a wheelchair, the distribution process was quick and smooth as priority was given to the elderly and the disabled (PwD).

“My wife Siti Rokoyyah Hasan, 41, and I left our house around 9 am and wanted to arrive earlier because we were told that many people were waiting for help today. It was a bit crowded but there are special stations in the lobby for the disabled and the elderly so we didn’t have to wait long.

“Alhamdulillah, I want to use this cash aid to buy my automatic bed motor which was damaged during the Taman Sri Muda flood, which submerged the ground floor of my house,” said Hamizan, who suffered a deformed leg in an accident last year.

Plant operator N. Sivakumar said he would use the money received to buy basic household equipment, especially electrical products.

“Some may say that the 2,000 RM from both sources of aid is low. But it’s actually a big help for us who are in trouble, ”he said.

Bernama’s checks at the distribution center revealed that aid recipients began to fill the room from 8 a.m. to receive humanitarian aid from the Federal and Selangor governments. – Bernama
