The Department of Higher Education in Odisha has announced a further extension of the deadline for students to submit online applications for financial aid for the purchase of laptops under the Biju Yuva Sashaktikaran Yojana.
The extended deadline will allow deserving Pass Plus 2 students to apply for DBT in cash in lieu of a laptop under the program until May 10, 2022.
This is the third time the deadline for applying for financial assistance under the program has been extended. The online application was first opened on March 29, 2022 and the deadline was April 10.
The Department of Higher Education has asked all eligible students who have not yet applied to submit their application at the earliest.

Only 15,000 eligible students, whose names were on the list of meritorious students published by the Department, can apply for the program to receive a direct benefit transfer of Rs 30,000/- in lieu of a laptop.
The financial assistance of Rs 30,000 will be disbursed through the direct transfer of benefits through the Aadhaar enabled payment system. Students do not need to submit their bank account to receive the money.
Therefore, eligible students must ensure that their bank account is Aadhaar-primed (NPCI mapped). If not, Aadhaar seeding (NPCI mapping) of bank account should be done by visiting the bank before applying.

Eligible students can apply for the program by visiting the official Odisha government scholarship portal i.e. (https://scholarship.odisha.gov.in).
