- Several areas in and around northern New South Wales have been ordered to evacuate as dangerous flooding threatens properties in the second time in a month. The NSW Government has acknowledged there were failures in the response during last month’s emergency
- The Northern Territory Anti-Corruption Commissioner has announced he will investigate the decision to arrest and charge a police officer Zachary Rolfe on the fatal shooting of Kumanjayi walker in 2019.

- Roman Abramovich. The Russian billionaire and owner of Chelsea FC reportedly suffered symptoms of suspected poisoning earlier this month after a meeting in kyiv, alongside at least two other Ukrainian peace negotiators.

Actor Will Smith issued a written apology to Chris Rock after this Oscars incident yesterday, with the Academy confirming they are investigating the incident.
Smith said his behavior was “inexcusable” and that he was “offline” — and that Rock’s joke about his wife’s medical condition was “too much to bear.”
Rock joked Jada Pinkett Smithwho suffers from alopecia – a hair loss condition – could star in a sequel to GI Jane, the film for which Demi Moore shaved her head.
The incident sparked a strong reaction online – there was a lot of talk about Smith and Rock’s behavior, but also support for Pinkett Smith and others who live with alopecia.
